Scarecrow did not get a brain. He got a diploma that he did not earn. He immediately presumed he was a genius, and proudly stated a math formula that is NEVER correct. The wizard gave him nothing, but people believe he is smart, because he has a degree. Same thing happened with the lion and tinman. Lion did not get courage, he got a medal for bravery he did not earn. but now anyone who sees the medal will assume lion is brave. Tinman did not get a heart. he got an alarm clock that ticks, sounding like a heart. but anyone who comes near him, will now assume he has a heart.
